Meet The Smokin' Gun Team
Rich Lawrence
Since 2001, Rich Lawrence has dedicated his life to raising and studying Northern whitetails. What started as an interest quickly became a lifelong passion for understanding these incredible animals and the genetics that make true trophy deer.
For over two decades, Rich has focused on deer farming and learning everything he could about whitetail behavior, health, and development. His commitment to producing strong, healthy Northern whitetails with world-class genetics has been the foundation of his work.
In 2016, Rich decided he wanted to take that passion even further. He had a vision of creating something bigger — a place where hunters could come experience the pursuit of a true trophy whitetail while enjoying the outdoors and the traditions that come with hunting.
That vision became Smokin’ Gun Hunting Ranch.
Today, Rich continues to dedicate his time and knowledge to building a hunting experience centered around quality animals, ethical hunting, and creating opportunities for hunters to harvest the trophy whitetail they have always dreamed of.
For Rich, it’s never just been about raising deer — it’s about sharing the passion, the lifestyle, and the experience with hunters who appreciate the pursuit as much as he loves it.
John Frazier
John Frazier has spent his entire life around hunting and the outdoors. The woods, the pursuit of whitetails, and the traditions that come with hunting have always been a big part of who he is.
John’s journey with Smokin’ Gun Hunting Ranch began as a customer, coming to the ranch to pursue trophy Northern whitetails and experience the hunt. Through that experience, he quickly built relationships with the team and developed a deeper connection to the ranch and its mission.
What started as a hunter visiting the ranch soon turned into something more. John began helping with photography and lending a hand around the farm, capturing the moments and memories that make each hunt special.
Today, John is proud to be part of the Smokin’ Gun team. He continues to help on the farm, document hunts through photography, and assist hunters in pursuing the trophy whitetail of their dreams.
For John, it’s not just about the harvest — it’s about sharing the passion for hunting, the experience of the outdoors, and helping others create memories that will last a lifetime.
Julie Lawrence "BOSS LADY"
Julie Lawrence is Rich’s wife and an important part of the heart behind Smokin’ Gun Hunting Ranch. Known around the ranch as the “Boss Lady,” Julie helps keep everything running smoothly and makes sure every hunter feels welcomed and right at home. From the lodge to day-to-day ranch life, Julie plays a big role in creating the family atmosphere that makes Smokin’ Gun special.
